Win or Lose, Seattle's Dog-Friendly Baseball Games Score a Home Run

On August 7, local baseball fans gathered at T-Mobile Park to watch the Seattle Mariners play the Detroit Tigers.

But there was something unique (and especially cute) about this particular game: The stands were filled with hundreds of ball-loving pups joining their humans for Bark at the Park, Seattle's beloved series of dog-friendly baseball games.

These four-legged fans included good boys like Scout, a 4-year-old Golden Retriever who cheered on the home team in his Mariner's dog bandana. Likewise, Winston, a 2.5-year-old French bulldog, twinned with his owner in matching Mariners jerseys.

We also met Tuxedo, a cheerful corgi with an Instagram page who had so much fun at his first Bark at the Park that he's back for his second game!

According to the Mariners, 926 dogs attended tonight's game, which is a fantastic turnout even for a dog-crazy city like Seattle. One very good girl, an English Mastiff named Rosie, arrived rocking a Mariner's pendant AND a Seattle Sonics jersey in a truly impressive display of hometown pride.

Tonight's four-legged fans were seated with their owners on the 300 level, where they got a birds-eye view of the action. The outdoor deck was also outfitted with pet relief stations, a cooling pool, drinking water, and even an onsite veterinarian to keep everyone comfortable on game day.

But Bark at the Park is more than just a fun night for dogs and their humans (although it certainly is that). A portion of Bark at the Park ticket sales also supports Pawsitive Alliance, a nonprofit working to promote animal adoption around Washington State.

According to the Mariners, 926 dogs attended the Wednesday night game.

Each Bark at the Park game also features an "adoption bullpen" filled with puppies and dogs seeking forever homes.

Unfortunately, the Mariners didn't win tonight's game, but Bark at the Park was still a big hit.

Not only did hundreds of pups attend the dog-friendly game, this community event raised $1,852 for Pawsitive Alliance!

Bark at the Park attendees got to circle the bases with their owners at the end of the game.

In case you missed Bark at the Park this year (or, like Tuxedo, you would just like to go again), the Mariners will be hosting their final dog-friendly game of the season on September 12, when Seattle plays the Texas Rangers.

You can purchase a $35 or $40 View Level Dog Pack (which includes one human and one dog ticket) by noon on game day, and $2 from each dog pack ticket benefits Pawsitive Alliance. Extra human tickets are available for $15-20.
